New Year, New Changes

Every new year brings new plans, new ideas and new resolutions.  

For me, it brings new crafts. I love being creative and I love themes! What better time to make crafts than holidays like Valentine’s Day. Right now everything is pink or red, sparkly or glittery, and in the shape of a heart.

This is my first set of holiday jars. I Love them, but I think they need a ribbon…

Eddie and Robin’s Mediterranean Lamb Stir Fry

Hello, I have taken over my mother’s blog temporarily to give you all a new recipe that we thought was quite delicious. She has no idea I’m doing this, so, uh, Merry Christmas? My brother and I made this dish and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Ingredients:

Angel Hair Noodles
1 1/4 lbs of lamb (veal for stew works best)
1 Red Onion
3 Bell Peppers (of various colours for best flavour)
1 box Cherry Tomatoes
4 oz Goat Cheese
Basil
Thyme
Paprika
Garlic powder
Salt
Pepper
1/2 cup Pomegranate Red Wine Vinegar
1/2 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/3 cup Spicy Mustard
1/2 cup Teriyaki Sauce

Instructions:

Boil water for noodles first. As soon as the water is done boiling, stick the noodles in and cook until desired noodle texture.
Chop the lamb into chunks (if you didn’t get the prechopped veal for stew). Start cooking this on a high temperature in the oil, vinegar, teriyaki sauce, salt, pepper and garlic. Let this cook for a little while. Chop the red onion into chunks or strips and then put that into the pan. Cover the pan while it is cooking.
Chop the Bell Peppers while the onion softens and then stir them in with the spicy mustard, paprika, thyme and basil. Stir in the goat cheese and cover until it melts into the sauce.
Once the goat cheese is melted put in the cherry tomatoes and stop cooking it.
Serve the stir fry and sauce over the noodles and enjoy!

 

Refocus for the Holidays

I packed up the Thanksgiving box, but it’s still sitting in the dining room.

We bought a Christmas tree, but it still stands empty.

We’ve started our Advent activities, but just now made the wreath and lit the first candle.

I have dishes in the sink, laundry in the dryer and I haven’t posted anything all week. What’s going on? The littles are cranky, my oldest is fighting a sickness, finals and final projects are due next week. Maybe everyone is just worn out.

Time to refocus. Time to revisit “Ten by 10:00”

 

Ah ha! I realized what my first problem is. I’ve been staying up late trying to get things done, so I sleep later in the morning and it throws my entire day off. I end up being tired all day and not getting much done.

My second problem is that I haven’t been following my Ten by 10:00.(Because I’ve been sleeping late) I haven’t been planning my days, I’ve just been trying to get random things done…which doesn’t work for me. I need a plan. I’m a procrastinator, so sticking to this plan really helps me stay focus.

For tomorrow- wake up on time! Get some good fluids going! Make a plan for the day! Start with my “Ten by 10:00”!

I guess that means I better get to bed.
